Sean fulfilled his Huntsman study abroad requirement with a year at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. In addition to earning a minor in Japanese from Penn, he completed Wharton concentrations in both finance and accounting. After graduation, he pursued an investment banking career at Bear Stearns, and then shifted to private equity investing at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking. In 2002, he left Wall Street to earn his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, with majors in real estate and management & strategy. He is now co-owner of Mandelbaum Sale-Leaseback Advisors, a real estate advisory firm specializing in sourcing and arranging sale-leaseback transactions.
Sean's company has managed multi-million dollar transactions for a variety of corporate clients. His business skills have clearly served him well, but the global perspective he gained as a Huntsman student has also been put to good use. While based in Chicago, he has pursued business opportunities in Switzerland, Spain, Great Britain, France, Belgium and China. However, the best thing to come from his early international exposure through Huntsman was meeting his wife, Yuki, in Japan. In addition to running his own company, Sean is now the proud father of two and returns to Japan regularly with his family.
