Huntsman Program Events

Special events serve both to bolster the sense of community among Huntsman students and to complement their international education with experiences outside of the classroom. Social events such as international movie nights and cultural programs like the annual Lunar New Year celebration are staples of the Huntsman experience. In addition, academic lectures, book signings and round-table discussions are opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge of international issues.

Throughout the academic year, the Huntsman Program invites special speakers from the world of academia, industry and government to address program participants and the University community at large. Past speakers have included the governors of Utah and Hawaii, the Consul General of France and the Deputy Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. The CEOs of major corporations, renowned professors and Program alumni have also been invited to speak. Recently, the Huntsman Program hosted a talk by Mr. Robert Zoellick, President of the World Bank Group.

Throughout my four years in the Huntsman Program I have met an unbelievable array of individuals. From governors and senators to ambassadors and CEOs, I have had the pleasure of hearing insights regarding a variety of topics from those most knowledgeable about them—all within the cozy confines of the Huntsman Program Office. While speakers may not come to the Program every day, Huntsmanites are always up for a lively conversation about anything from Lebanese politics to the best Finance professor. I cannot imagine another community as interesting and diverse as the Huntsman Program!
