Jed Appelrouth is an artist, entrepreneur and educator. During college, he spent a summer at the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy, where he says his formal artistic training began. He further developed his abilities through classes at Penn, in addition to fulfilling his Huntsman Program requirements. After graduating from the Program, Jed spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Taos, New Mexico. During his year of service, he led a large-scale Mural project and worked as a fifth grade teacher.
Following his year of service, Jed returned to Atlanta as an analyst for McKinsey and Company and in 2001, he took on his first student as an SAT tutor. Since then, Jed has helped hundreds of students navigate the stressful college admissions and testing process. As founder of Appelrouth Tutoring Services, Jed has travelled as far as Provence, France to teach groups of SAT students!
In 2003, Jed returned to school and has since earned a Master's Degree in Science in Professional Counseling and become a Nationally Certified Counselor. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology at Georgia State University. In addition to running his own company, Jed continues to travel across the US and around the world to find inspiration for his photography and artwork, which is on display in some of Atlanta's fine art galleries.
