Saurabh was born and raised in India until he was thirteen years old. For high school, he attended the American School in London. He stumbled upon the Huntsman Program quite by accident, but when he learnt what it was all about, he thought that it was the perfect fit for him, because of the blend of business fundamentals with liberal arts and languages.
Saurabh served as the President of Penn's chapter of AIESEC, an organization that promotes cultural diversity by providing internships abroad. As VP and Secretary of the Wharton Indian Student Association, he organized speaker series, networking events and fundraisers. He was also a research assistant, working on projects in both Marketing and International Finance for Wharton professors. However, he says that the most enriching experience by far was his semester abroad in Lyon, France. Saurabh speaks Hindi, French and Sanskrit.
Since graduating from Penn, Saurabh has worked at Lazard Freres doing investment banking and often finds himself having to read financial statements not only in French, but also in Spanish and Portuguese. He has always been interested in the cross-border nature of mergers and acquisitions, and his international cultural and curricular background is the reason why he's usually staffed on international assignments.
